Backflow Prevention Device Services

Backflow Prevention in

Greater Richmond and Tri-Cities Areas

Backflow prevention devices make sure no contaminated or polluted water flows back into the public water supply system. This ensures that any chemicals, toxins, or unwanted nuisances won't make their way back into the clean public water supply.

Plumbing codes require all water outlets to be equipped with a backflow prevention device to prevent contamination or pollution of the drinking water. Therefore, all sinks have a space between the end of the faucet and the flood level of the sink called an air gap. However, systems such as lawn irrigation, pool fillers, boilers and chilling towers are required to have a testable backflow prevention device on the water feed. These devices are also required to be certified as functional by a certified Backflow Prevention Device Worker. 9 Yards proudly has this capability. When we test and certify your device we send those results to the locality having jurisdiction so you do not have to worry about getting compliance notices.
